Sacred Heart Novena

The Novena to the Sacred Heart will take place from 20th to 28th June, with two celebrations daily, at 10.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m., and with an afternoon celebration for children on Wednesday 26th at 4.00 p.m. Each day will have its own theme, as heretofore: God's love for each of us on Thursday 20, Petitions and Intercessions on Friday 21, Our Lady on Saturday 22, Corpus Christi on Sunday 23, The Faithful Departed on Monday 24, Reconciliation on Tuesday 25, Family on Wednesday 26, Healing on Thursday 27, and the Sacred Heart on Friday 28. We look forward to a great week of prayer and celebration of our life in Christ.

Youth Retreats

Retreats for young people at primary and secondary school level are facilitated here by a team of young people, called NET (New Evangelization Teams), who normally work in one of the Cork City parishes.

Days of Quiet Retreat

We offer the possibility to individuals and small family groups to enjoy a few days of quiet retreat and relaxation in our house and grounds.

The Liturgy

We celebrate the liturgy during the course of the year, in all the variety of the seasons. The Eucharist celebrated daily at 10.00 am draws a variety of people. We like to make the most of the liturgy, which is the great source of nourishment in the faith of the people of God. It helps them grow in their understanding and joyful commitment to God and to the world. They bring their own intentions, their own reasons for praying, and we invite them to take an active part in the daily and weekly liturgy, also giving special recognition to the mysteries that unfold during the course of the year.

Adult Education in the Faith

Sessions will resume at at 7.30 on Monday 2nd September.

Cultural and Recreational Activities

Various groups of people come together to further their interests, either on a regular way or on occasion. The GROW organization, which promotes the mental and emotional health of its members, meets here every Thursday night at 8.00. A Prayer Group, interested in practicing the John Main meditation method, meets on Monday night at 8.00. The Actively Retired Group of Castlehaven Parish, animated by a parish committee, holds a congenial meeting every second Thursday afternoon.
